Alongside our team of 180+ members spanning Media Buyers, Copywriters, Content Managers, Landing Page Developers, Content Creators, Email & SMS Coordinators, CGC & Influencer Managers, and more, we need a Junior Accountant to support our Accounting and Finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping, reporting, ERP automation, and process improvement work.
REQUIREMENTS:
Currently enrolled in, or completion of a business, accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related program
Strong foundational understanding of accounting principles
Ability to understand and work through basic accounting concepts, including journal entries
Some practical accounting, bookkeeping, finance, administrative, or office experience is preferred
Strong Excel skills, with the ability to adapt to Google Workspace tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working with numbers, financial information, and detailed records
Strong technical comfort and ability to learn new systems quickly
Ability to work independently once trained
Located in the Greater Victoria area or within a reasonable commuting distance for occasional in-office work
Experience with Claude is considered an asset.
Experience with AI-native ERP systems, such as Campfire or Rillet, is considered an asset.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Support general bookkeeping duties across the Pilothouse group of companies
Assist with accounting tasks, financial record-keeping, and recurring finance workflows
Support automation setup and process improvements in our new ERP system
Assist with financial analysis, including variance analysis and flux analysis
Support scenario planning work with the Controller and VP of Finance
Help prepare materials for board and executive reports
Assist with sales tax filing support
Support accounting workflow documentation and process improvements
Complete ad hoc accounting and finance tasks as required by the Controller
ABOUT THE POSITION
This is a part-time Junior Accountant role supporting our Accounting and Finance team.
You will work closely with our Controller and broader Finance team on bookkeeping, financial analysis, reporting, ERP automation, and process improvement projects. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build practical accounting experience while contributing to a growing business with evolving systems and processes.
The role is expected to be approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, depending on business needs. While there may be some flexibility, we are looking for someone who can commit to a consistent weekly schedule, with set blocks of time during regular business hours. For example, this may look like four consecutive hours at a time on agreed-upon days.
This role is primarily remote, but candidates should be located in the Greater Victoria area or within a reasonable commuting distance. There may be occasional in-office days to work with the Controller and accounting team.
