Built by the team behind Pilothouse and DirectToConsumer.co, Agency brings together ambitious agency leaders through facilitated forum groups, a private digital community, curated events, and a growing deal network.
We’re early-stage and growing, which means the membership sales motion is still being built. The right person will not just step into an existing process, they will help shape how we find, evaluate, admit, and grow a high-quality founder network.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Membership Account Executive to own founder outreach, admissions conversations and acceptance follow-up for Agency.
This is a full-cycle sales role, but it is not a “sell to everyone” role.
You’ll be responsible for sourcing prospective members, building pipelines, running thoughtful sales conversations, managing follow-up, handling objections, and helping grow membership. But because Agency is a private network, growth only works if the right people are in the room.
That means your job is not just to close, your job is to understand fit and protect the culture of our network.
You’ll speak with senior agency founders, learn about their businesses, ask strong questions, communicate the value of Agency, and evaluate whether they’re the right fit for the network. Sometimes that will mean moving someone forward. Sometimes it will mean confidently saying no.
This is a founding seat in the membership sales function. You’ll work closely with the General Manager, Agency to build the playbook, improve the admissions process, and create the tools, templates, and systems needed to scale thoughtfully.
What You’ll Own
You’ll own the membership sales and admissions motion from first touch through final decision, including:
Sourcing and reaching out to prospective members who may be a strong fit for Agency.
Building and managing a pipeline of agency founders and leaders.
Running thoughtful, advisory-style sales conversations with prospective members.
Asking strong questions to understand a founder’s business, goals, challenges, and fit for the network.
Communicating the value of Agency clearly and confidently.
Handling questions, concerns, and objections without becoming pushy or transactional.
Evaluating prospective members against our admissions criteria and membership standards.
Recommending who should be admitted, declined, or nurtured for a future opportunity.
Closing aligned prospective members and supporting a strong onboarding handoff.
Following up consistently and professionally so no strong prospect falls through the cracks.
Keeping pipeline activity, notes, and next steps organized.
Helping build the resources this function needs, including outreach templates, call guides, follow-up systems, CRM workflows, evaluation rubrics, and admissions processes.
Sharing feedback from the market to help refine our positioning, qualification criteria, and member experience.
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a strong fit if you:
Have 1–3 years of experience in sales, recruiting, admissions, partnerships, community, or another relationship-driven role.
Have experience owning or contributing to a sales pipeline, including outreach, discovery, follow-up, and closing.
Are comfortable with thoughtful outbound and starting conversations with people you do not know yet.
Have strong sales instincts, but do not believe every conversation should turn into a close.
Ask better questions than you pitch.
Listen carefully and can quickly understand what someone is really looking for.
Are comfortable speaking with senior founders and holding substantive business conversations.
Care about quality, trust, and long-term relationships.
Have the judgment to know when someone is not the right fit and the confidence to say so professionally.
Are organized, proactive, and comfortable managing your own pipeline.
Are scrappy and resourceful in an early-stage environment.
Like building what you need instead of waiting for a perfect playbook.

Experience in founder-facing sales, recruiting, admissions, community, or partnerships.
Worked in or around agencies, digital marketing, media, or growth companies.
Sold or evaluated fit for a premium membership, mastermind, cohort, or private community.
Helped build an early sales, recruiting, admissions, or community process before.
Experience working in a startup or small team where structure was still being created.

You will not be one small part of a mature sales machine. You’ll help build the motion, improve the standards, create the resources, and shape how Agency grows.
Compensation:
$70,000 - $80,000 CAD + Commission
Compensation includes a competitive base salary and a quarterly performance bonus tied to both growth and quality outcomes. We don’t use per-deal commission because this role requires discernment, not just closing ability. Success in this role means growing membership thoughtfully while protecting the quality of the network.
We plan to revisit the compensation structure at the 6-month mark with input from the person in the role as the function develops.

Every member changes the quality of the network. Bringing in the wrong person can do more damage than missing a sale.
This role is for someone who wants to build, sell, evaluate, and grow with care. Someone who is commercially motivated, but relationship-first. Someone who can own the outbound, manage the pipeline, handle the follow-up, close aligned members, and still remember that the best salespeople know when not to sell.
